But lumps in mashed potatoes

Last night I went out to dinner with a friend. One of the sides that came with my dinner was mashed potatoes with gravy. The potatoes were lumpy — and I loved it.

I considered potatoes as my comfort food… Love this poem and the mashed potatoes and gravy! Son#1 has used “gravy master” as his online gaming name for years. His younger brother goes by “mashed taters”! I am required to make mashed potatoes and gravy at Thanksgiving. I have to admit that I make about 5 pounds and we have mashed potatoes at every meal for several days and then I make mashed potato soup!
Is there something wrong with me? I can’t have lumps in my mashed potato. It must be smooth and totally lump free. But I definitely agree about the lumpy gravy 🙂 (Your friend obviously knows you well!)
I’m all for mashed potatoes and gravy, but without the lumps! A fun read.
