From the window seat on the plane, plain
Stretches out. And sometimes I see sea.
Sometimes it is a sandy beach. Beech
Trees with maple, birch, hemlock wood would
Populate my view. Back row aisle, I’ll
Say that my view is, of course, coarse
Economy class — deaf to my pleas: Please,
I need the window but I know no
One cares! [sigh] Be there in a few. Phew!
This is my submission to the W3 Challenge. This week we are challenged to write an “Echo Verse” which means the last syllable is repeated at the end of each line. It was a fun challenge.
When I fly, which isn’t often, I truly am a window seat person all the way.

Well done Sally
Sally, this playful wordplay feels so lively and clever, making the travel woes both relatable and entertaining.
Much love,
David
What a clever take on the prompt! I really enjoyed this!
Thanks, Violet. It was a fun way to play with words.
very nicely done Sally 👍💜
Gorgeous! This is my husband all the way. If he doesn’t have the window he’s miserable!!
There’s something kind of magical about seeing earth from the air. Seeing clouds — being ABOVE the clouds — it’s amazing to me.
Sally it is a wonderful perspective that more times than not results in poetry!!
Really enjoyed your echoes, I don’t like flying much, but when I do I also need the window seat, keep my eye on the view 💞
Yes, indeed. The echoes were a fun challenge, weren’t they?
They were… ☺️
Great poem, Sally! My son always gets the window seat. I just need the extra leg room!

So do you take the aisle seat? Or do you book those seats that have extra leg room?
We always book the seats with extra leg room. He gets the window seat, and I take the middle seat. As long as I can stretch my legs, I’m good. 🙂
What a fascinating poem, so very well done! 💞💞💞
So playful! I loved it.
hi, Sally 😍
Just wanna let you know that this week’s W3, hosted by our beloved Svenja, is now live:
Enjoy❣️
Much love,
David
