Lord, let me be a full moon
I fear I am but a crescent
May my actions
Reflect You
This is in response to the W3 prompt this week:
Write a Naani poem — “Naani is one of India’s most popular Telugu poems. Naani means an expression of one and all. It consists of 4 lines, consisting of 20 to 25 syllables. This form is not bound to a particular subject.”
Reena, the poet of the week, also provided the image as inspiration.
Amen. Lovely poem Sally
Wow, this is deep, Sally…

It’s something I first heard as a teenager — how the moon doesn’t generate it’s own light but only reflects the sun’s. I bet I’ve been pondering that for 45 years.
Hi, Sally ❤
Just wanna let you know that this week's W3, hosted by the delightful Lorraine Lewis, is now live:
Much love,
David
Wonderful! Now I have to come up with a Naani… not as easy as it sounds and you’ve set the bar pretty high!
Your Naani was awesome. I loved it.
This is very beautiful Sally 💞
Thank you!
beautiful
Thank you!
Beautifully said.
Thank you!
Beautiful, Sally! I think we will always be a crescent moon, always learning and accumulating knowledge, aiming to be full one day!
So so true. And crescent moons still reflect light and are beautiful.
God needs to take up this challenge of building its own reflection.
I’m still pondering this. I’m not sure I understand what you mean.
If you want the reflection to look good, you need to be perfect or at least create a perception with filters.
So simple and rich in meaning. I love your poem.
Well written.
Even a crescent shines a light in the darkness 💞💞💞 Beautifully written, Sally! 💞
